CHARLESTOWN, N.H. - Cecil Ernest Fisk, 97, died Jan. 13, 2011, at Springfield (Vt.) Hospital, after a brief illness.

He was born March 3, 1913, the son of Sabin Ernest and Ethel Maude (Perry) Fisk

He graduated from Charlestown High School in 1931 and attended the University of Vermont.

Mr. Fisk married Leona E. Lundin May 24, 1941, in Mankato, Minn.

He worked in sales for Joy Manufacturing Co. for a short time and then was employed as a machinist at Jones and Lamson Machine Tool Co. in Springfield, Vt., for 39 years, retiring in 1978.

He served Charlestown as town and school moderator, was a member of the Grange and Charlestown Historical Society.

Mr. Fisk played basketball and won the N.H. state singles and doubles tennis titles. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots or Celtics. He was a gentleman farmer and enjoyed gardening and raising livestock, as well as music and dancing.

Survivors include his wife; six children, Calvin of Indianapolis, Ind., Carlton of Bradenton, Fla., Cedric of Charlestown, Conrad and Janet Fisk-Miller, both of Keene, and June Stacey of Hartland, Vt.; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Beulah Chase, in 2001 and an infant daughter in 1943.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, Main Street.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. A reception will follow.
