Mattie Murrah, 89, of Risen Ave., Campbellsville, died Monday July 3, 2000 in Campbellsville.
Daughter of the late Robert H. Russell and Tommie Ann Dudgeon Russell, she was born in Taylor County, KY., on March 25, 1911 and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Murrah was a retired school teacher and worked for many years with H & R Block Tax Service.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, Pitman Chapter #157.
She was married to O'Connell Murrah on Jan. 26, 1932, who preceded her in death on June 19, 1988.
Survivors include one sister, Ruth Harden of Campbellsville; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Marie Russell of Franklin TN,., and Howard and Rosalyn Stewart of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters, Owen Russell, James Russell, Claude Russell, Leonard Russell, Lottie Huddleston, Betty Turner and Lorena Gaines.
Funeral was at 1p.m., Thursday July 6 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville, with buriar in Brookside Cemetery.
The Rev. John Carroll Coomer and Dr. Terry Swan officiated.
Pallbearers were David Gaines, William Gardner, Bobby Harden, Eugene Russell, Jack Stewart, Bobby Turner, Russell VanZant and Wendell Watson.
