As a young man, located in Genesee Co., N. Y., whence he removed in 1812 to French Creek, Chautauqua Co., N. Y., where he bought lot No. 39 on which he permanently settled and improved a farm. In 1821 he was one of the founders of the Baptist church at French Creek.
