Valparaiso/Hobart -- Cindy Ann Mason, 38, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2000 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso. Cindy was formerly of Hobart and a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 1981. She enjoyed racing and sports cars. She is survived by her father, James Mason (Annette Rice) of Valparaiso, mother, Sandy (Bernard) Oppman of Alabama; two sisters, Renee (James) Taillon of Arizona and Jamie (Dean) Smith of Crown Point, IN; great-grandmother, Muriel Koonsman of Hobart; grandfather, Clarence Goodwin, of Merrillville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cindy was very close to Annette Rice who was her closest friend and constant companion.
Funeral services which will be held on Wednesday, June 28th, 2000 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, are incomplete. Visitation is on Tuesday, June 27th from 2 to 5 and 7 to p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Rd., Hobart.
