.....Carl immigrated to the United States in 1883. He married Laura Martin in 1892 in Cole, Co., Missouri. She was the granddaughter of Missouri pioneers. They moved from her home town to St. Louis about 1898.
.....Carl owned a haberdashery store, selling "gents furnishings" in St. Louis, and apparently did quite well. They lived in the same home, 4126 Flora Boulevard, from before 1910 until his death in 1953.
