Benjamin F . Anderson.

Benjamin F. Anderson was born in West Virginia November 10, 1829, and died at his home in Woodburn, Iowa, August 12, 1919, aged 89 years, 9 months and 2 days.

He came to Louisa county, Iowa, in 1856 and after a few years he moved to a farm near Woodburn, where he resided until about nineteen years ago when he located in Woodburn.

On April 2, 1865, at Osceola, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Sarah E. Starkey. To them were born eight children, Mrs. Delia Cannon and Benny who preceded their father in death, Mrs. J. N. Miller of Ventura, California, Mrs. Will East of Indianola, Iowa, Mrs. Chas. F. Alline of Ottumwa, Iowa, Mrs I. E. Raines of Russell, Iowa, Robert and Rose at home. All of the surviving children except Mrs. J. N. Miller were present for the funeral services.

About forty years ago he united with the Seventh Day Adventist church.

Brother Anderson has been bedfast for the past two years. He has borne his affliction patiently and endeavored to make everything cheerful and pleasant for his family and friends.

He leaves to mourn their loss besides his children, his wife, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. May Owen of Carney, Nebraska, and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. V. W. Henderson at the home at 2 p. m Wednesday, August 13th. Interment was made in the Woodburn cemetery.
