Diana "Dede" Dunning Madden, 80, died Nov. 20, 2009, at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.

She was born in Philadelphia and lived in Stuart for 25 years, coming from her birthplace.

She founded Doodle Bags Inc.in 1991 and sold the business in 2002. She was former co-owner of Sports and Specialties Shop Inc. of Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia. She served as president of Chestnut Hill Development Group for two years and was as a board member of the Upsala Foundation in Germantown, Pa.

She was a longtime member and past national president of the Dames of the Loyal Legion of the U.S., and a member of the Mayflower Society, National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, National Gavel Society, Garden Club of Stuart and St. Mary's Episcopal Church, where she served as lay Eucharistic minister. She was a member of the Altar Guild and Flower Guild and a volunteer office worker at Mary's Kitchen.

Survivors include her son, Robert Frazer of Melbourne; daughter, Lisa Frazer Buehler of Kalispell, Mont.; companion, David Grabherr of Stuart; stepdaughters, Michaele Pollock of Dallas and Margaret Setliff of Portland, Maine; stepsons, Robert L. Madden of Hawaii and Joseph W. Madden of Dallas; sister, Frances D. Borie of Philadelphia; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Allen Butler; and husband, Robert L. Madden.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 623 East Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL 34994.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Stuart.

Burial, in the columbarium, will be at the Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Chestnut Hill, in Philadelphia at a later date.

Arrangements are by All County Funeral Home and Crematory Treasure Coast Chapel.
