Willis S. Bonebrake, son of Levi and Susana Bonebrake, was born Dec. 18, 1857 at Rockport, Ind., and departed this life Jan. 13 1921 at the home of his brother, Aldis, making his age 63 years and 26 days. He moved with his father and mother to Highland, where his father ran a store. When a small boy he carried the mail from Highland to Hillsdale for 2 years and later moved to Hillsdale, his father being one among the first to build where the town now lies and where he kept the first store. Willis spent the rest of his life at Hillsdale where he was known as an honest citizen.

His mother passed from this life when he was young and his father 16 years ago. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Elma Cunningham of State Line, Ill., two brothers, Allen of Newport and Aldis of Hillsdale, with whom he has made his home for nearly 13 years, and two half brothers, Ray of near Hillsdale and Melvin of Indianapolis. He had been in poor health for some time with leakage of heart and dropsy.

The funeral was held at the M.E. church, Friday afternoon being conducted by Rev. Penny of Indianapolis; burial at Trobridge cemetery, west of Highland.
