Andrew Parker Horton, 73, was called to be by the Lord's side on April 21, 2010 at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was born May 19, 1936 in Prue, Oklahoma to Willis Jackson and Esther (Burgess) Horton.

On May 25, 1957 Parker married Judith Anne Keeling, to this union, 5 children were born. He has been a long time resident of Wynona and many surrounding communities as well, graduating from Hominy High School. He was an independent oil producer for many years, and before that ran the Machine shop in Hominy. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Pershing, Oklahoma.

Parker is survived by his five children- Andrew James Horton and his wife Keni Lee of Dewey, Elvin Dale Horton and his wife Thelma Louise of Tulsa, Lloyd Ray Horton of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Merry Lynn Lewis and her husband Jeff of Granada, Minnesota, and Shelton Parker Horton and his wife Carrie Lynn of Ponca City, Oklahoma. 12 grandchildren- Andrew Parker Horton II, Joseph Thomas Horton, James Lloyd Horton, Justin Lee Earl White, Carl Owens, Jessica Elaine Horton, Jacob Allen Horton, Jonathan Horton, Elvin Dale Horton Jr., Michael Horton, Brittany Horton, and Chelsea Elizabeth Horton. 3 great grandchildren and 6 siblings- Helen (Gore) Horton, Grace Lavaughn (Knightt) Horton, Gladys (Hall) Horton, Kenneth Horton, Alma (Slane) Horton, Johnathan Mark Horton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judith on February 12, 2002 and 6 siblings- Willis Jackson Horton Jr., Hattie May (Krochmalney) Horton, Mary Catherine (Zaffino) Horton, Elvin Dale Horton, Howard Keith Horton and Doris Ann Horton.

Funeral services for Parker will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Hominy at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Charles Hudspeth officiated the service. Musical selections were "Size 7 Round and Made of Gold", "In the Garden", and "Leaving on My Mind" sung by Pastor Charles Hudspeth. Casket bearers were Billy Swindell, Ralph Dooling, Jodie Bostik, Paul Passmore, Joe Lucas and David Ware. Burial was at A.J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy. In lieu of flowers the family has set up a memorial to the Hospice of North Central Oklahoma 1904 N. Union Ste. 103 Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601. The family entrusted Powell Funeral Home with the arrangements.
