The death of David Newton of Shenango township, which occurred on the 7th inst., removes one of the oldest residents of the county. He was born near the place of death 84 years ago and had always resided in the county. He was a zealous Democrat and an honorable industrious man. His aged wife, who was Miss Rebecca Hazen, and who is now 81 years of age, survives him. He was a man who had a kindly heart and who could call very many people his friends. He had a very large connection in this county. His surviving children are as follows, and all residing in this county: Mrs. Elizabeth Griffith, John H., Isaac, Benjamin and Jacob Newton and Mrs. Rebecca J. Houk and Mrs. Lydia Houk. Funeral took place on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the family residence. Interment at the Harmony Baptist cemetery.
