Donna Coker Hott, beloved wife, devoted mother and grandmother, sister and friend passed away on January 12, 2011 after a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Though our hearts are heavy, our minds are at peace knowing that she is with our Lord God.
Donna was born on April 2, 1923 in Naples, Texas to Ennis Lee Coker and Verna Cornelia Jenkins. After graduating Naples High School she lived in California and Louisiana before settling in Houston, Texas where she met and married her husband of 56 years, James E. Hott. Together they started Aluma- Craft Corporation where she served as secretary treasurer for over 36 years.
Donna had a thirst for knowledge, love of adventure, and the arts. She and Jim traveled the world together. She created so many memories that her family will always cherish.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Bruce James Hott. She is survived by her husband, James Earl Hott; daughters, Linda Lambert Matthews and husband Buck and Lisa Hott Stockard and husband Greg and their two sons, Travis and Hunter; granddaughter Ashley Hott Rolland and sister, Francis Coker Carr; Nieces, Gayle Steiner, Carol Owens, Candice Howell, Katie Griffie, Melanie Hinten, Jan Smith, and Phyllis Hott.
She was a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, Women's Rotary Club of Houston, a lifetime member of The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she served many years on the Women's Box Seat Committee and the International Committee. She was also a lifetime member of the 100 Club. She served as president of the Briarbrook & Tiffany Garden Clubs and the Houston Museum Society.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Sunday January 16th at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 17th at 9 A.M. at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. A Memorial Service followed by reception will take place at 11 A.M. at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. Reverend David Peterson will officiate.
