Mrs. Tressie E. SMOKER, 99, R.R. 1, Akron, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at her residence. She had been ill 1 1/2 years.
She was born April 7, 1877 in Akron to Peter and Elizabeth ARDER MILLER. Her marriage was Dec. 24, 1898 in Akron to Charles SMOKER. He died in 1965. She was a member of the Akron church of God.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Goldie FERREE, Mrs. Margaret SLAYBAUGH, Mrs. Thelma SAUSAMAN, all of Akron; and Mrs. Mildred BECK and Mrs. Blanche SWICK, both of Rochester; one son, Doin [SMOKER], Akron; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and four sisters preceded in death.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Sheetz fneral home. The Rev. C. J. MOWRER will officiate. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
