Doin Smoker

Doin M. Smoker, 91, 1119 Sunset Drive, Celina, died at 3:05 a.m. Sept. 10, 2004 at The Gardens of Celina Nursing Home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1912 in Fulton County, Ind., to Charles Smoker and Tressie Miller. On Feb. 1, 1934, he married Violet I. Smith, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Merlee (Fred) Heckathorn, Celina; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Smoker, Akron, Ind.; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Charles Smoker; five sisters, Goldie Feree, Mildred Clark Beck, Blanche Swick, Thelma Sausaman and Margret Slaybaugh; and one grandson.
He was a farmer and a board member of the Farm Bureau. He also served several years on the Fulton County Co-Op Board and was a charter member of the Fulton County Historical Society.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Sunday at Akron Cemetery, Akron, Ind. No visitation will be held.
