Ferrel Dean Launius, 78, of Bearden, passed away on January 12, 2011 at his home.
He was born on October 18, 1932 in Holly Springs, AR.
Ferrel served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Bearden First Assembly of God Church in Bearden. He was retired from Highland Industrial Park in East Camden and was also former Mayor of Bearden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nollie Launius and Mary Walker-Launius; his wife, Virginia Jones-Launius; his brothers: N.L. Launius, Nolan Launius, Algie Folden Launius; and one sister, Evalena Mizell.
Ferrel is survived by one son, Terry Launius (Judy) of Bearden; one daughter, Patricia Elliott (Randy) of Ozan, AR.; four grandchildren: Zach Launius of Bryant, Aubrey Horstkamp (Ernie) of Bearden, Jillian Alfaro (Kendall) of Benton, and Cody Elliott of Ozan; four great-grandchildren: Drew Horstkamp of Bearden, Peyton Horstkamp of Bearden, Justin Horstkamp of Bearden, and Zach Craig of Bearden; and three brothers: Weldon Launius of Dalzell, SC, Lamar Launius of Scottsdale, AZ, Carroll Launius of Germantown, TN;
The funeral services will be held in Bearden First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wayne McGuire and Rev. Thomas Stoker officiating. The burial services will be held at Moss Hill Cemetery.
