Joseph was the son of James W. Walling and Mary White Pugh Walling. Born in Montgomery Co, Va., (now Grayson County, Va)
His parents are buried in Pugh Cemetery, King George Co, Va.
Joseph married Katherine "Katie" Anderson. Probably White Co, Tenn., where he lived before coming to East Texas.
The whereabouts of Joseph's grave is not known. I had read that he died in Okla. while visiting his son Thomas, who lived there. In the year 1840.
The whereabouts of Katherine's grave is also not known, but I am pretty sure she is buried in Grapeland, Texas.
This would be my 3rd Great-Grandfather.
He had a brother John C. Walling that settled in Rusk County, and his sons moved on to Rusk, Cherokee and Bosque Counties.

I have just found information that his daughter; Sarah b. 1811-1812, married J.W. Taylor in White Co, Tenn.
Sarah died in 1866, while visiting relatives in Arkansas.
Source; Goodspeed's Biographies of White County, Tenn.

His daughter Susan (Sukey) b. 1 April 1807, Tenn. married William George Gordon in 1835 Tenn. Died 1 Aug. 1881 Lamar Co, Texas.
