Fred Eason, age 68, a long time resident of Alton passed away at this home Mary 25. Fred Eason was born April 12, 1904 at Alton, Iowa. He was a graduate of Alton Public School and was in the painting business. He was united in marriage to Greta De Jong on July 3, 1935. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Bob (Ruth) Zembesh, and Mrs. Lee (Eulyn) Rjemersma. He was a life long member of the Alton United Presbyterian Church and a 30 year members of the Alton volunteer fire department.

He is survived by his wife, and two daughters and two grandchildren, Lind and Leon Zembesh, two brothers and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian Church on May 27 with Rev. John Maze and Rev. Henry Eggink of Storm Lake officiating. Mrs. Joel Boeyink was the organist and pallbearers were Norman Eason, Wayne Eason, Paul De Jong, Floyd Jackson, John V. Eason and Ray Hibma. Interment was at Nassau Township cemetery.
