Alden C. Shoner
(August 20, 1928 - January 10, 2011)
Alden C. Shoner, 82, of Tiffin, passed away Monday evening, January 10, 2010, at Ruffing Family Care Center, Bloomville.
He was born August 20, 1928, in Fort Wayne, IN., to the late George and Chrystal (Jackson) Shoner. He married Mabel L. Love April 12, 1947.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mabel of Bloomville; a son, George Shoner of Teaticket, MA.; three daughters, Crystal McBride and Brenda (Gary) Magers, both of Tiffin; and Cindy (Roger) Mills of Arcadia; a sister, Georgia (John) Pirtle of Bicknell, IN; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
Alden retired as a truck driver in 1993. He was a HAM radio operator with the call sign of K8VZG and was very mechanical. He gave his time to help his friends and was very dedicated to his wife and family.
His Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 14, 2011, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. Jeff King officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family Noon - 2:00 PM, Friday, January 14, 2011, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial contributions can be made for activities at Ruffing Family Care Center, Bloomville, or a charity of the donor's choice.
