Henry Alfred Phillips, age 63 years, 4 months and 7 days, passed away at his farm home near Lind Monday afternoon at 5:25 o'colock after several years of illness with cancer. Mr. Phillips was born in Ohio, January 26, 1866 and was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He had resided in the vicinity of Lind for many years.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Sarah Phillips. three duaghters, Mrs. Opal Olsen, Mrs. Helen Biggs, Mrs. Gladys Ralph; four brothers, Edwin, Renton, Wash.; Charley in Kansas; George, Prosser; Rex in Kansas; five sisters, Anna Parish, Prosser; Tollis Pedigo, Renton; Harriet East, Latah and Lottie Rouse, Brogan, Ore., and Lydid Smith, Bolivar, Mo. The body was taken to the Haight mortuary parlors, Ritzville and was returned to Lind for the funeral at the M.E. church, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00, the Rev. H.S. Randall officiating.
