ARTHUR HOWARD BAILEY
Arthur Howard Bailey, 94, died Saturday, November 13, 1999, at his home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Chumuckla, Fla., on May 11, 1905. Mr. Bailey was a Christian who has gone home to be with the Lord. He served the Lord as deacon at the Southside Baptist Church, Eight Avenue Baptist Church, and Cedarlawn Baptist Church, where he was a charter member. He served his community as a general building contractor for over 30 years in the Pensacola area.
His wife of 71 years, Maude Polk Bailey, and a son, Willard E. Bailey, preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Mildred Mitchell and Glenda House; daughter-in-law, Ruth Bailey; daughters and sons-in-law, Edna and Buddy Wehmeier, Doris and Roy Inge, Drucilla (Dru) and Linwood Belich, all of Pensacola; son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Betty Bailey of Crestview, Fla.; foster son, J.C. Innman of West Monroe, La.; sister, Lena Jones of Pensacola; and 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 1999, with the Reverends Steve Bailey and Henry Willett officiating.
Burial services will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Bob Bailey, Rick Bailey, Kevin Belich, Donnie House, Don Inge, and David Wehmeier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Adams, Bill Bailey, Jr., Larry Bailey, Keith Belich, Joe Brigham, John Desposito, J.B. Foxworth, Howard Inge, Johnnie Johnson, Jimmy Mashburn, Preston Salter, Ken Sexon, Frank Strong and Glenn Woody.
HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
