George Washington Hill 84, of Burkburnett, TX. passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 10 AM at Jan Lee Baptist Church in Burkburnett with Rev. Mark Simons officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 7 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home.

George was born September 7, 1926, to the late Robert & Minnie Hill in Coleman, OK. George proudly served his country in WW II in the Navy. He retired after 36 years as conductor from Burlington Northern Railroad. He married Effie Williams Feb. 1, 1964. He was preceded in death by their son, Marty Joe Hill. He was a Baptist.

George enjoyed life and helping others. His "Railroad Buddies" were very dear to him and their weekly coffee get togethers were a special part of his life. Playing shuffleboard with friends was something George loved to do. George loved his family and was proud of each one. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Effie, his children, Dianna Reilly of Friendswood, TX. Alvin Hill and wife Paula of Wichita Falls, TX. and Janece Jebe and husband Fred of Blue Mound, IL.; His grandchildren Jennifer Reilly, Kris Hill, Jeff Reilly, Justin Roberts, Jamie Gafford and Janay Dunmire: his great grandchildren; Alex Mata, Kaleb Gaggord, Karter Hill, Reagan Reilly, Layla Lucas and Adam Hill.
