Mrs. Goens Dies Here Wednesday
Mrs. Letha E. Goens, age fifty-five, a life-long resident of Jackson County, died at the home, 100 South Pine Street, at 7 o'clock Wednesday night. Death followed ten years' illness with a complication of diseases.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o'clock Friday morning from the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Stephen G. Johnson, pastor, in charge.
Burial in Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Goens was born on October 23, 1884, in Jackson County, the daughter of Jess and Nancy Goens Durham, both deceased.
She was married on February 17, 1906, in Seymour, to Cleveland Goens, who died in 1918. During her long residence in this city she made many friends who mourn her passing.
She is survived by six children; Mrs. Berniece Hill, Mrs. Edith Hill, Miss Mildred Goens, Kenneth W. Goens, Mrs. Margaret Tankersley and Keith Goens, all of Seymour. Two brothers, Emil Durham and James Durham and one sister, Mrs. Pearl Robbins, all of Seymour, and nine grandchildren also survive.
