James Annis was born January 22, 1792 at Lebanon, New Hampshire; died May 8, 1849 at Irasburg, Vermont; married December 16, 1811, Sarah (Sally) Clifford at Brookfield, Vermont, and had eleven children; married 2nd, May 5, 1840, Mirinda (Merenda) Parker and had four children.
James died destitute, and left a large family that was broken up after the death of his widow in 1861. Silas, the youngest child, was adopted and his name legally changed to Charles Duckles.
