Rosa Louise Faust, 97, of Prunedale, CA, died of natural causes at her son's home. Prior to living with her son, she had lived in Los Osos, California.

Rosa was born Rosa Louise Mendenhall on August 27, 1900, in Pleasant Lake, North Dakota to Merrill & Eva (Smith) Mendenhall.

When she was 8 years old, she traveled in a covered wagon to Kalispell, Montana, where her family, who were cattle ranchers, homesteaded in a large ranch.

In 1920 she married Charles Raymond Faust in Minneapolis, Minnesota where Charles was stationed during World War 1. They have 5 children: Donovan Raymond Faust, Murral Faust, LaMar Raynar Faust, Venus Alsace-Lorraine (Faust) Miller, and Yvonne Rosa (Faust) Walker who were all born in Frackville, Pennsylvania.

She was a Jehovah Witness for 51 years.

She was known by her grandchildren as Mam-Mam, an endearing name for a beloved grandmother. At the time of her death, she had 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was a wonderful cook-she made the best chicken and dumplings. She had a beautiful laugh that would make you smile. She loved all animals and had a strong connection to them. She had Pekinese dogs for years and years.
