PHILIPSBURG - Ruth Naomi Kasnick, 80, of Phiiipsburg died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at 4:25 p.m. at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Born Oct. 13, 1921, in Hawk Run, she was a daughter of Ephraim and Ellen S. (Warner) Wilson.
She was a 1939 graduate of Morris Township High School.
Mrs. Kasnick retired from Penn State University.
She was a member of the Chapel of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Hawk Run, and the Daughters of the King Guild within the church.
On March 19, 1942, in Philipsburg, she wed Joseph Kasnick, who died Jan. 6, 1971.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Askey and her companion, Jay Fritzinger, of State College and Mrs. Willard (Donna L.) Bratton of Philipsburg RD. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Debra Philbin, Sharon Fellows, Joseph Bratton, Daniel Bratton, Diane Wesesky and Jason Bratton; eight great-grandchildren;and four step great-grandchildren.
In addition, she is survived by two brothers, Ephraim Lee "Tike" Wilson of Philipsburg and Kenneth W. Wilson of Casatena.
Mrs. Kasnick was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and long-time companion Samuel Lidgtt.
Funeral services will be held at David K, Dahlgren Funeral Home, Philipsburg, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with Revs. David J. Robson and William R. Walker officiating.
Interment will be at Ashcroft Cemetery, Hawk Run.Friends will be received atthe funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
