BUSHTON - Helen Louise Behnke, 82, died Sept. 15, 2005, at Lyons District Hospital.
She was born Oct. 9, 1922, at Lyons, the daughter of Ira and Alva Higgins Burdette. She graduated from Parsons High School. A longtime Bushton resident, she was a homemaker and former employee of Munitions Plant, Parsons.
She belonged to First United Methodist Church, Bushton, and Gideons Auxiliary.
On April 20, 1945, she married Elmer Harvey Behnke at Tyler, Texas. He died May 5, 1998.
Survivors include: two sons, Edward L. Sr. and wife, Anita, Frederick, and Wayne and wife, Tanya, Bushton; a daughter, Judy Kenyon, and husband, Jerry, Great Bend; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean and Paul Burdette.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons, with the Rev. Sarah Hickson de Salazar. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Bushton First United Methodist Church, Bushton First Responders or Gideon International, all in care of the funeral home, 214 West Ave. South, Lyons, KS 67554.
