Services for Marjorie Wratten, 91, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville with the Rev. Richard C. Mavis of the Union Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home today from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Wratten died Saturday, December 16 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Marjorie L. Wratten was born August 13, 1898 near Gruver in Emmet County, Iowa to Andrew M. and Gertrude (McQueen) Brown. She grew up on a farm near Gruver and attended Gruver schools and Estherville High School. In 1916 she married Harry J. Wratten in Estherville. The couple lived in Des Moines and Sylvis, Ill. for a number of years, but spent most of their married life in Estherville where Mr. Wratten was a long time employee of the Rock Island Railroad. In recent years Mrs. Wratten has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Estherville. She attended the Christian Church in Estherville.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Wratten of Glendale, Calif.; three grandchildren; Kathy Elo of Glendale, CA., and Mark and Steve Wratten both of Estherville; eight great grandchildren; one sister Carol Vavra of Chicago, ILL and one sister-in-law, Maxine Brown of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Wendel; a half-brother, Harvey; two brothers; Wallace and Chester; and four sisters; Iva Pennington, Birdie Steele, Edna Wertz and Mildred Whaley.(Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 18, 1989)
