"Frank E. Gable, 78, of rear 225.5 Church St., died at 3 p.m. yesterday at his home following an extended illness.
He was born at Lancaster, a son of the late Thomas E. and Hannah Sherr (sic Shur) Gable. In his youth, he was prominent in athletics as a member of the old Alerts football team. He was a former cab driver and in more recent years was employed by the city.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha E. (Aberts) Gable, and eleven children: Frank E., Ethyl M., wife of Clayton F. Oeschger; Catherine V., wife of Ellis A. Parmer; Charles A., Elsie M., wife of Russell J. Carl; Florence E., wife of James Younger; Walter T., Dorothy F., wife of Harold Hagelgans; Margaret I., wife of Anthony Heiland; Betty Jane, wife of Eugene Zook, all of Lancaster, and
Robert Earl, Los Angeles, Calif.
There are 25 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren."
