He was born in Bryan County. He lived most of his life in Bryan and Evans Counties. He was a member of Pembroke Advent Christian Church. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and playing on the computer. He was in the National Guard for three years before joining the Army.
Survivors: wife, Patricia Sikes of Claxton; a son, Joe Sikes of Claxton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene & Matt Kern of Claxton and Angel Sikes & Ronnie Cole of Reidsville; three brothers, Rev. Joey C. Sikes, Sr. of Hinesville, Lloyd C. Sikes of Pembroke, Jerry L. Sikes of Ellabell; one grandson, Matthew Cole of Reidsville.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Bryant and Rev. Wendell Dubois officiating.
