Pearl was first married to John Bowman in Tarrant Co. Texas. They had one child, Jess E. Bowman. Pearl married James Warren Mitchell. This was the third marriage for James Warren.

Funeral rites were held Thursday, March 10, at the First Baptist Church, Hollis, for Mrs. Pearl Wheeler Mitchell, 56, who died March 9 at Hollis. Rev. R.T. Hopper, pastor of the church officiated.

The songs, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Golden Bells" were sung by a quartet composed of Bolen Braswell, Roy Thomas, Orville Rippetoe and Charlie Curry, accompanied by Miss Mary Lee Shelton.

Mrs. Mitchell was born April 21, 1882, at Arlington, Texas.

Survivors include three daughters, Agnes McLaughlin, LaRue Potter, and Mary Bartlett, all of Hollis; three step-daughters, Mattie Childs of Hollis, Savoy Feemster of Seymour, Texas, and Ada Muirhead of Dalhart, Texas, three sons, Warren Mitchell of Childress, Clifton Mitchell of Dalhart, and Truman Mitchell of Hollis; two stepsons, John Mitchell and Anderson Mitchell of Childress; two brothers, Tom Cobb and George Cobb of McLean, Texas; two sisters, Mattie Wheeler of McLean, and Lou Blackwell of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by one stepson and two sons.

Flower bearers were Bertie Mitchell, Ethyl Worthen, Suzy Clement, Flora Mitchell, Dorothy Smith and Marie Rippetoe

Pallbearers were J.R. McClendon, H.R. Bartlett, A.A. Kite, Jim Hubanks, Henry McLaughlin, Jody Hudson.

Burial was in the Olympus Cemetery in Childress County with the Petty Funeral directors in charge of arrangements.
