HOLIDAY WEDDING EVENT OF THE WEEK
MISS JONES BECOMES MRS. GEORGE

Wedding Ceremony at M.E. Church and Elaborate Luncheon Served in Dining Room of Hotel Montague.

The society event of the holiday season was the marriage yesterday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church, of Miss Estella Jones to Harry Porter George.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. H.A. Leeson, the full ring service being used. The bridal party entered to the strains of a wedding march for pipe organ played by Mrs. Louis Wean, and consisted of bride, groom, Miss Voila Jones, the bride's sister, as maid of honor; Miss May Stiner, bridesmaid; Dr. Harvey Morris of Vassar, best man; Elmer Jones, brother of the bride, groomsman; Helen Atwood and Arnott Jones, ring bearers and Genevieve Smith, ring bearer.

The bride was gowned in white taffeta silk with full bridal veil and carried bridal roses; the maid of honor, white organdie and white carnations; the bridesmaid Persian lawn with pink carnations, and the ring bearer, pure white with a veil.

The church was beautifully decorated in white, pink, and green and the guests were shown to seats by four young lady ushers, Misses Lizabeth Delmore, Grace VanSickle, Norma Lambertson, and Blanche Rowland, who wore white with pink girdles.

The groom's gift to the bride was a beautiful brooch of pearls.

The company was limited to 80, mainly near relatives of the contracting parties, only a few friends being added. Those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jones of Akron, parents of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Culbert of Bay City; Miss Flossie Culbert of Standish; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Jones of Wyoming, Ont.; Joseph Culbert of Grand Rapids; and Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Spears, Vassar.

At 3:30 an elaborate wedding reception was served the entire company at Hotel Montague and the happy couple left on the evening train for Detroit, Toledo, and Cleveland, under a shower of rice and confetti and followed by the best wishes of all who know them.

During a residence of three years in Caro, Miss Jones has won many friends, and Mr. George, who has been a resident of Vassar about the same length of time, has established a growing law practice, made many friends socially, and is the newly-elected Circuit Court Commissioner for the county.

In common with other friends, The Advertiser extends congratulations.
