Mr. McDonald was born February 25, 1924 in Mt. Jackson, Virginia, son of the late Charles Harris and Sadie Virginia McDonald.
He was a member of Walker's Chapel Church of the Brethren in Mt. Jackson and served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic during W.W. II, Korean War and Vietnam. He retired after 20 years of service.
Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Amelia Gertrude Hottinger Allen McDonald; a daughter, Patsy Ellen Fergerson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a sister, Catherine Stepp of Harrisonburg; a grandson and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with the Rev. Cecil Haycock officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Jackson Cemetery.
