Blanche Palmer Smith June 12, 1920 - April 11, 2021
Mrs. Blanche Palmer Smith, 100, of Gaffney, died April 11, 2021 at Ashlan Village Assisted Living in Lyman, S.C.
She was the daughter of the late Cliff and Susan Cook Palmer and the widow of the late Wilton Henry Smith, Jr.
Blanche was a faithful member of Gaffney First Baptist Church and attended Sunday morning services until the age of 99.
She is survived by nieces Alecia Palmer and Martha Palmer Frye (Walter); great-nephews, Wally Frye (Lindsey) and Jonathan Frye; great-niece, Elizabeth Frye Tripp (Jordan); two great-great-nephews and two great-great nieces.
She was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy and Jonathan Palmer.
The family would like to thank the church family and ministers of Gaffney First Baptist Church for their excellent homebound ministry during Blanche's years in assisted living.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Frederick Memorial Gardens, Gaffney, conducted by Reverend Tommy Comer. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaffney First Baptist Church, 200 N. Limestone Street, Gaffney, S.C. 29340 or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 2624, Spartanburg, S.C. 29304.
The family will be at their respective homes.
