He was a farmer and rancher in the Liberty Mounds community for most of his life and had served as a member of the Liberty School Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Hazel.

He is survived by: his wife; two sons; four daughters; brother; and sister; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Tuesday, March 10, 3:30 p.m. at the Liberty School Gymnasium, located between Lewis and Harvard on 201st Street South with interment at the Duck Creek Community Cemetery.
