She was born June 24, 1920, in Whittington, the daughter of Ed and Clara (Baldswell) Blanton. She married Claud Walker on Dec. 24, 1938, in Morganfield, Ky., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2005.
Mrs. Walker is survived by a son, Eugene Walker and wife Beverly of McLeansboro; a daughter, Elaine Ayers and husband Gary of Bloomington; a daughter-in-law, Janet Walker of Evansville, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Mark Walker and wife Malia of McLeansboro, Keith Walker and wife Sally of McLeansboro, Rebecca and Wendi Ayers of Bloomington, Scott Walker and wife Kimberly of Evansville, Ind., Jeff Walker of Evansville, Ind., Debbie Marx and husband Jeff of Evansville, Ind., and Shelly Bontrager and husband Todd of Mishawaka, Ind.; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Leon; three brothers; and five sisters.
Mrs. Walker was a retired homemaker. She was of the Southern Baptist faith and attended Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, McLeansboro.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Steve Shoultz officiating. Interment will be at Ten Mile Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Harre Funeral Home.
