Here I am having to put up a memorial for one of my best friends - something I never would have imagined. Have known him for over thirty years - we used to be employed at the same local business. He left there in 1987 and went into business for himself a year later - owner / operator of North Anthony Car Wash. After about ten years of that, he decided to sell out and took some time off, not having had any vacation time. He then went into maintenance / repair work at Byron Health Care Facility and had been faithfully there until his sudden and totally unexpected passing Thursday evening.
His hobbies included U.S. / World History, visiting sites of historic importance, nature trails, doing his own vehicle repairs.
He leaves behind two sons; Marcus M. And David E., who just completed eight years of military service in Iraq and Afganistan . A young daughter from his first marriage, Michelle Rene died in 1979.
His earthly remains will be creamated and interred next to his step father, Edgar Nash, at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton, Wells County, Indiana.

MARCUS JAMES MOFFITT, 63, of Fort Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening Jan. 6, 2011. Born in Uniondale, Indiana, he grew up in Bluffton, Ind. and Ontario, Canada. He returned to Indiana where he graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his two sons. He worked for Perfection Biscuit Company, owned / operated North Anthony Car Wash, and as a maintenance assistant for Byron Health Center. He is survived by his sons, Marcus M. and David E. of Fort Wayne; brother, David (Deborah) of Polson, Montana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Moffitt; father and step-mother, Maurice and Olive Moffitt and step-father, Edgar Nash; and a daughter Michelle, from his first marriage. Arrangements by Midwest Funeral Home & Cremation Society, Fort Wayne.
