Janice Carol Abbott, 71, Harrisonburg, died July 20, 1995, at her home following an illness of several months.

Mrs. Abbott was born Jan. 22,1924, in Chicago and was the daughter of Jeanne Gehrmann Esau Luptak of Bridgewater Home and the late Arthur Esau.

She moved to Harrisonburg in 1962 and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

On June 7, 1952, she married Edward F. Abbott, who died in 1975. Mr. Abbott moved to Harrisonburg to open the Walker Manufacturing Plant.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Edward F. Abbott III, Cleveland, Ohio, and one daughter, Kerry Abbott, East Jerusalem.

Father Kenneth Wood will conduct a memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

A private burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Building Fund, 154 N. Main St., Harrisonburg, Va. 22801.

Arrangements are by the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
