Clinton W. Amos, 69, of Fredericktown, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 1983, in his home.
He was born April 16, 1914, in Beallsville, a son of Raymond and Elsie Doyle Amos. A resident of Fredericktown for the past 13 years, he was a member of First United Methodist church of Fredericktown.
He was a retired miner for Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp., Vesta No 5 Mine, and was a member of UMW Local 762 of Vestaburg.
Mr. Amos was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Elliott Amos; four sons, Gregory and Richard Amos, both of Marianna, Ronald Elliott of Montgomery, Ala., and David Amos, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Little Creek, Va.; five sisters, Eleanor Hoffman and Janice Nochta, both of Warren, Ohio, Alma Howe of Phoenix, Ariz., Bernice Conley of Fredericktown and Gwendolyn Radcliff of Arizona; two brothers, Floyd Amos of stroudsburg and Leroy Amos of Warren, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
One sister, Dorothy Amos, and two brothers, William and Ralph Amos, are deceased.
