Vol. 5, No. 31
W.H. Hallmark Dead
W.H. Hallmark, one of the pioneer citizens of Freestone County, died at his home near Dew Monday night of heart trouble and was buried at the graveyard at that place Tuesday afternoon with Masonic honors. He was advanced in years, being near seventy, and had lived for fifty years or more in the community in which he died. During his long life he lived uprightly and left a rich legacy of honor and good name to his children.
He was the father of Mrs. J. P. Ham of Teague, and many relatives and friends of this place attended the burial. In the death of this good citizen Freestone County has sustained a great loss, and his place of usefulness will not soon be filled.
