Bio and Links
Bio Photo I find it very petty how some people on this site make it clear that they will not transfer memorials to anyone unless it's within Find A Grave's limited scope of close relation. They are usually those who have 1000's of memorials under their "control" that are at best half completed. They are more interested in their numbers than they are providing accurate information about those in the memorials. They like to quote Find-A-Grave's rules as though this is their personal power trip. In addition, who cares if your photos end up on Ask yourself, are you doing this because you want some kind of credit or because you want to help people find their ancestors and to honor the dead? These threats about copyright are ridiculous.

I will happily transfer to you if you are in any way more closly related to the person than I am. I don't care what Find-A-Grave's stated purpose is, this is a great geneaological resource and it is my primary reason for inputing and updating these memorials.

Record transfer
Thank you so much for transferring my grandparents grave records to me and thank you for caring enough to create a record for them.

David Clabaugh (1819-1889)
First and foremost, Hooray for you and your generous attitude about sharing/transferring memorials. Thank you!
Secondly, I am very interested in David Clabaugh. You state that he was born in Clark County, Ohio. My 3rd great grandmother, Elizabeth Claybaugh/Clabaugh was married to John Morris in 1827 in Clark County, OH. They moved to Illinois just before he died in 1861 and they are both buried in the Atlanta Cemetery in Logan County, Illinois. She stated in the 1880 census that she was born in PA as was her father, William Claybaugh. She stated that her mother was born in Wales. I have absolutely no other information on her parents. I also see there is a John Clabaugh buried in the Carlyle Cemetery in Clinton Co, Illinois. He also stated that he and his father were born in PA and that his mother was born in Wales.
Do you by any chance have information on David Clabaugh's parent's origins?
Thanks so much for your time and efforts here on Find A Grave.
Sincerely, Karen Struve

Your Bio
Amen to your bio statement regarding transfers. I have had trouble even getting transfer within the four generation guidelines..and that from Find A Grave contributors who have no more relation to my ancestors than do Adam and Eve.

RE: Family Tree
John Gee McLaughlin and Johnnie Elizabeth Black McLaughlin were my great grandparents. Johnnie's parents were John Alexander Henry Black and Amanda Weaver Black. Amanda's parents were Rufus Weaver and Mary Louisa James Weaver. I have found tons of information on the Blacks and Weavers, but I have not been able to find anything out on the James line, other than Louisa's parents names were Henry and Amanda James. If these people are in your tree as well, please let me know if you have any additional information that may be helpful. You can also email me at if that is easier.

Family Tree
Hey, I noticed you manage several of my great grandparents pages on here, and I am assuming they are you're ancestors as well. I was wondering if you have a tree on If so, I'd like to check it out to see if there is anything I could use on my tree.
