Sadie Bernice Johnson
Sadie Bernice Johnson, 95, of Newport, Ore., died of Alzheimer's disease on Feb. 9, 2010 at Newport Rehab in Newport.
She was born Nov. 18, 1914 to Alvin and Carrie (Miller) Simonson in Kismet, Kan. She attended college in Kansas and later married Virgil W. Johnson. They moved to California and ran an auto parts store in Santa Rosa for many years. She later lived in Newport and enjoyed playing cards with the Newport Bridge Club and working in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil W. Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Van W. Johnson, of Newport.
