Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Launnah Finley. Mrs. James worked as a florist. She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She taught Sunday School for more than 50 years.
In addition to her husband, Daniel, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. James was predeceased by her daughter, Virginia Sherrill James, and her son, Nathanial David James.
The funeral service will be held at 3p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2010 in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with burial following at Mt. Airy Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
