Carl D. Finley, 92, formerly of 1809 River Road, Piedmont, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Flat Rock, N.C.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Frank and Launah Babb Finley and the widower of Gertrude Jones Finley.

Surviving are three daughters, Jane Cook and husband, John of Flat Rock, N.C., Jean Dill of Piedmont, S.C., and Margaret Bullington of Waterloo, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Grace Suttles; a sister, Obera James and husband, Dan of Greenville; and 12 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Albert Suttles.

Mr. Finley served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired grocery store manager. He was a member of Skyland First Baptist Church in Skyland, N.C., and was a former member of River Road Baptist Church in Piedmont.

Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family is at their respective homes.
