Christy Ellis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, passed from this life after a long battle with breast cancer on January 1, 2011.

Christy was born June 4, 1959 to Ross B. and Elinora L. (McCombs) Green in Murray, Utah. She grew up in Kearns, Utah graduating from Kearns High School in June 1977.

She was married to Douglas M. Ellis for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on April 18, 1980 and shared over thirty wonderful years together giving birth to two beautiful daughters and raising them into strong amazing women. When her daughters married, their husbands became her sons as she never believed in the term "in-laws".

Christy always put others first and willingly worked for their care and betterment, working as a medical assistant and volunteering to work with special needs in the LDS Mutual program for several years. Her unique look on life and mischievous smile always resulted in fun and good times for everyone. She enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, camping, bike riding, and Tae Kwon Do where she achieved the rank of black belt. She endured 41 surgeries during her life and doctors, nurses, and hospital staff, as well as family and friends were always impressed by her strong and positive attitude.

She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in June 1989 but refused to let it defeat her. Christy participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for the last seven years, never missing a race. For over twenty-one years and nine separate diagnosis of cancer, she fought hard and refused to give up, facing each diagnosis and beating the disease into remission with laughter and a smile. In the end when her body couldn't fight any longer, her heart and spirit still refused to give up even to her last breath when she passed from this world with her loving family by her side.

Survived by: her husband, Douglas Ellis; daughters, Kristina Stock (James) and Erica Ellis-Heath (Brian); grandchildren, Kaden Stock, Aubrey Stock, Blakney Heath, and Heath baby expected in June 2011; father, Ross Green; mother, Elinora McCombs Green; brothers, Russell Green (Robin) and Richard Green (Linda); sisters, Debbie Do (Vinh), Karen Wamsley (Joseph), Lesa Terry (Steven); and many nieces and nephews who loved her exceptionally.
