It is with sadness in our hearts to announce the passing of Elinora Lucretia McCombs Green. Our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend departed this life in the early hours of March 23, 2016. Elinora passed peacefully as she had succumbed to illness related to aging.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lucretia Peasnall; father, Ernest McCombs; and, most recently, her eldest daughter, Christy Ellis. Elinora is survived by her sister, Ruth Schaelling; high school sweetheart, Ross Green; two sons, Russell (Robin) and Richard (Linda) Green; and three daughters, Debbie (Vinh) Do, Karen (Joe) Wamsley, and Lesa (Steve) Terry.

At the time of Elinora's passing, her five living children and their spouses, along with many of her eighteen grandchildren, surrounding her. Elinora's loving, compassionate, and sometimes salty disposition, made her easy to love. She will be greatly missed by all who know her, including her thirty-nine great-grandchildren, who knew her as "Granny."

Elinora's life was filled with many of life's hard experiences, but she never let this slow or wane her passion to serve others-specifically for her husband of sixty years, Ross. Even in the last few hours of her life, her mind was drawn to ensuring that others were cared for. Elinora has been known to go out of her way to ensure that friends, family, and loved ones were looked after and cared for.

She served a wonderful life as Little League Baseball President, Relief Society President, PTA President, Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow, and many other civic responsibilities-she did all this while raising fivr children. She always had time to stop and say hello or even deliver a batch of famous freshly baked brownies.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Holladay Heath Center for the loving care they gave to Elinora.

We invite friends and family to the memorial services held in her honor at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), Murray, with a viewing Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Wednesday from 11:00-11:45 a.m.
Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery, West Valley City.
