Rev. Dan C. Brooks, McGraws,
Wyoming Co., W.Va., was born July
7, 1887 and died of influenza-pneu-
monia March 18, 1920. Held member-
ship in the Pine Grove Baptist
Church, Rockcastle Asociation. Bro.
Brooks was a son of Deacon James
R. Brooks and wife, and was not
married. Bro. Brooks was licensed
to preach the gospel by his church
about four years ago, and had been
very active as a local preacher and
Sundy School Worker in a very needy
field of this county.
Bro. Dan C Brooks seemed to be
very studious and careful in the
preparation of his sermons, and those
that knew him, felt that he was a
young man of promise in the Master's
kingdom. We extend to his family
our warmest sympathy in their
great loss. (Rev.) G.P. GOODE,
Newfound, W. Va.
The family story that is told about Daniel's death:
Jesse Crocket, Daniel's twin brother Married Gertrude Hill and on the night of February 10 1920 Gertrude went into labor. Jesse stayed with Gertrude while Daniel went for the doctor. It was cold and raining that night and he got sick and he ended up with pneumonia and died a month later.
