A. Hempstone Griffith, a native of Beallsville and for some time a clerk in the County Treasurer's office at Rockville, died Sunday afternoon at his residence, 119 Adams Street, Rockville, aged 62 years.

He was a staunch Democrat and was prominent in party councils.

He was a son of the late Charles and Caroline Griffith and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Hersberger Griffith, and a daughter, Ann, at home.

The body is at the funeral home in Barnesville, where services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville. William B. Hilton, funeral director.
