Atkinson-Mr. Delmus Eugene Crews,81, of Atkinson died at his residence Sunday Jan. 2, 2011 after a short illness.
Born in Pierce County, Georgia he was the son of Josh and Lizzie Crews Crews.
He was of the Baptist faith and had retired from The Container Corporation of America. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Crews is survived by 4-sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Willie Gee Crews, of Pembroke, David Crews, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Charles and Sharon Crews, also of Fernandina Beach and Timothy Crews, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, 2-daughters, Rebecca Ann Crews, of Fernandina Beach and Celeste Crews, of Green Cove Springs, several grandchildren , several great-grandchildren, a sister, Clara Strickland, of Kingsland, 2-half-sisters, Juanita Ryals, of Fernandina Beach and Delores of North Carolina, also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 5, 2011) at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta with Rev. Joey Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in the family plot at High Bluff Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Crews, Jr., Bart Crews and Justin M. Crews.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home of Nahunta, Georgia.
