Amedeo left his family at home in Santa Maria del Giudice, Lucca, Italy to come to America. He arrived on 23 October 1909 at Ellis Island, and went to Jerome, Arizona to be with his brother-in-law Lorenzo Pantaleoni. We find him on the 1910 Federal Census in Jerome working as a miner in the copper mine, on the 1920 Federal Census he is owner of his own Pool Hall (Bar). Sometime in the late 1920's his bar was burned down, family members said it was because he wouldn't pay for protection. He then left Jerome and went to Burlingame, California to live with his sister-in-law, Camila Martini Pantaleoni and her family. We find him living there in 1930 and his wife has now joined him. All his children by this time are adults and we have no idea if he ever saw them before heading home in the 1940's. He missed the birth of his son Nello, who was born in 1910 and was in his 40's when his father came home.

Amedeo and Giustina had 3 children: Pia, who married a Mr. Marraccini, they lived in La Plate, Argentina where they both died. Nella and Nello.
