NAMPA — Services for Lawrence Poulsen, 71, of 711 Eighth Avenue South, who died Thursday in a Nampa hospital after a short illness will be conducted at the Alsip Chapel at 3 p.m. Monday. Bishop Milton B. Minor of the LDS Sixth Ward will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest.

Mr. Poulsen was born April 13, 1897 in Lewiston, Utah, where he was reared. Re was married Dec. 19,1917, in Logan, Utah to La Rue Hugie. The couple observed its anniversary last December. For a number of years, they lived in Lewiston, where he was employed by the Amalgamated Sugar Co.

The family moved to Nampa in 1944, when he became assistant superintendent of the sugar firm's plant here. He retired May 1, 1962.

He was a member of the LDS Church and was high priest of sixth Ward.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Poulsen are a son, Kenneth L. Poulsen of Nampa; three daughters, Mrs. Elaine P. Alder of Logan, Mrs. Josie P. Lewis of Franklin, and Mrs. Carol Hooker of Pocatello; three brothers, Arnold J. of Yonkers, N.Y., Leland J. of Berkeley, Calif., and Clifford L. Poulsen of Lewiston, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. Mina P. Davis of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Edna Hayball of Bakersfield, Calif.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. A brother, Gerald Poulsen, preceded him in death.
