Ervin Nathaniel Ackerman, died at his home in the Oak Ridge community of Williamsburg County on May 5, 1955. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Ackerman was a son of the late Robert Ackerman and the late Argent Rowell Ackerman. He was born May 27, 1883, in Oak Ridge and spent his entire life there.

He was survived by his wife, the former Miss Sarah Estelle Lambert; two daughters, Mrs. Nell Beasley and Mr. Evelyn Courney of Florence; nine sons, Henry Ackerman, Watson Ackerman, Sidney Ackerman, and Grady Ackerman, all of Andrews, William Ackerman of Lancaster, Clifford Ackerman of Georgetown, Edward Ackerman, Dudley Ackerman, and Harris Ackerman, all of Columbia; 28 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Sulie Cooper of Andrews.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 7, 1955, in Bird Pond Cemetery. The Rev. David McKenzie and the Rev. Rhett Ward officiated. Burial was directed by Mayer Funeral Home.
